Why chips work so well on old concrete
After grinding, an older garage floor can look like a map: patched cracks, different colored concrete, and old oil shadows. A full broadcast of vinyl chips covers all of it with a consistent speckled look, so you see one even floor.
The install
We grind, patch and prime. A colored base coat goes down, and we toss chips over it until no base shows. After curing, we scrape off loose chips and roll a clear top.
Picking colors
Earth tones like tan, brown and gray go well with Spanish-style and ranch homes. Black, gray and white blends look clean and modern. We bring sample boards so you can compare them in your garage light.
Where people use it
- Attached and detached garages
- Laundry areas
- Back patios under a roof
- Small shops and storage rooms
How it holds up
The chips sit inside the coating and the topcoat protects them, so they do not flake off. The texture gives traction when the floor is wet.
Is it hard to clean?
No. A broom, a mop or a leaf blower handles most of it.
Can I get a smoother finish?
Yes, we can add an extra topcoat to fill in more of the texture.
