What usually goes wrong
- A kit was rolled over concrete that was never ground.
- Paint was used instead of a real coating.
- Moisture came up through the slab.
- A heavy object or tool chipped the surface.
How we repair it
We find the cause first. Loose coating is ground off, the concrete is repaired, and a proper system goes down. Small chips can sometimes be patched, but they may show.
Older homes and moisture
Older slabs often have no vapor barrier underneath. Water can come up and push a coating off. We test for moisture and use primers designed for damp slabs.
After the fix
A chip floor hides most signs of past damage.
Can you match my existing floor?
Exact matches are hard. Often a full recoat looks better.
How long does a repair take?
Most repairs take one to two days.
Signs you need attention soon
White powder pushing up through the coating, soft or gummy spots where the car parks, or edges lifting near the garage door are all early warnings. Catching them early can mean a smaller repair. Once large sheets start lifting, a full grind and recoat is the only lasting fix.
