How it is different from epoxy
Epoxy is thick and strong, but it cures slowly and can yellow in sunlight. Polyaspartic is a newer chemistry that cures in hours, stays clear in the sun and handles heat well. Many of our floors combine an epoxy base with a polyaspartic top.
Summer heat and Santa Ana days
When the Santa Ana winds blow and temperatures climb, garage floors bake. Tires coming off the 10 or the 605 are hot, too. Polyaspartic resists softening and staining from those tires better than most epoxy tops.
The install day
We still grind and repair first. Because it cures quickly, we coat in smaller sections and work carefully at edges. Many garages are done in one day, walkable that evening and ready for cars in about a day.
